There are two ways that Tenor can generate a progress note for you. First, using our recording feature, Tenor will record session audio, and turn that into a professional, and insurance ready note. Second, you can share details about a session with our note generator (by typing or dictation) and Tenor will create a professional and compliant note.

  4. Review, edit if needed, and finalize the note for your professional records—all in minutes, not hours

Clinical note formats

Choose the format that aligns with your therapeutic approach or practice requirements:

  • Default Note Type - Our comprehensive format covers client presentation, interventions, assessment, risk factors, and treatment planning

  • SOAP - Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan

  • DAP - Data, Assessment, Plan

  • BIRP - Behavior, Intervention, Response, Plan

  • GIRP - Goals, Intervention, Response, Plan

Tailoring your documentation

Using the settings gear, you can:

  • Choose your default note type

  • Choose your default note length

  • Select terminology that matches your practice (clinician/therapist, client/patient)

In addition, you can edit any section of your progress notes directly on the platform.
