Please note, if you are using a Windows operating system please see our article here: https://support.tenortherapy.com/en/articles/11150046

Recording sessions while using headphones is supported by Tenor, but it requires a few simple steps to set up. On Mac machines, Tenor supports all browser-based conferencing software (ex. Google Meets, Simple Practice, and in-browser Zoom calls) as long as you are using Google Chrome.

On Mac machines, the Google Chrome web browser is required to use headphones with Tenor.

Google Chrome can be downloaded here: https://www.google.com/intl/en_ca/chrome/dr/download

Setting up your session on Tenor

1. Select the option to share your system audio when creating a session and start the session

2. Share your system audio

This menu should appear automatically on the recording page after you click "Let's get started".

You need to share audio from the specific browser tab where the video conferencing is happening.

Next, ensure that the toggle to "Also share tab audio" is selected (by default, this should be selected).

Finally, click share in the bottom right.

3. Proceed with your session

No other changes are needed! Your tab audio is now being captured.

If at any point you think something is wrong with the audio capture, you can refresh the page and unpause the session to reshare your audio.

What do I do if I am using a non-browser based conferencing software like Zoom?

On Mac, it is not possible to capture audio from the Zoom app directly while wearing headphones, but you can make the Zoom call from your browser instead (please see the next section).

How to make a Zoom call from your browser

1. Go to zoom.com and log in

You can sign in to Zoom here: https://www.zoom.us/signin

2. Once signed in, in the top right select Web Apps > Meetings

3. Find your meeting and click start to launch the Zoom call in your browser

After your have launched your Zoom call proceed as normal!

For any other non-browser based conferencing software (i.e. anything that is not done in Safari/Chrome/Edge/Firefox), there are often browser-based options.

If you are unsure if this is an option for your preferred video-calling software, you can Google "Can I do a X call in my browser?" (ex. "Can I do a Zoom call in my browser?") for an answer.
